Burke Company History

Our founder, Roscoe Burke, envisioned a customer oriented, and highly engineered experience when he founded Burke Industries in 1942 in San Jose, CA. At the time of its inception, Burke was the centerpiece of a mostly agricultural community surrounded by orchards until creation of the Technology Industry in the later part of the century. While much of the surrounding community around Burke has changed, the orchards have disappeared and a city has rapidly surrounded the facility, the core tenants that Roscoe embodied have remained. The vision Roscoe possessed allowed him to cultivate relationships in industries such as flooring, military, aerospace and many others. He was described by his colleagues as a pioneer who often developed novel, industry leading solutions to optimize the factory. Roscoe continued to lead Burke Industries until his death.
